“The soldiers and employees of the Department of Defense call the Supreme Commander of Armed Forces (the President) to take under the current laws urgent steps to stabilize the situation in the country and to reach agreement in society,” it said in the statement, which was published on Friday on the website of the Ministry of Defence.

“The storming of public buildings and attempts to prevent the government from fulfilling their duties” were unreasonable, said the army leadership. The soldiers and workers warned that an “intensification of the confrontation’s territorial integrity was” threatening Ukraine.
