‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 4 Spoilers, The New Threat, Jeremy’s Place, Meredith’s Choice
Vampire Diaries season 4 Elena may drive Stefan away with her new vampire ways & more. Vampire Diaries, Stefan, star Paul Wesley recently gave away a really good,season 4 spoiler tease to the 2012 Comic-Con press folks. It looks like newly-turned vampire Elena may not be so appealing to Stefan anymore as the new season rolls along.
He speculated that Elena’s transformation may create some distance between them,stating, “Maybe he won’t be attracted to her as much, because it’ll remind him of himself. Men like the opposites. He hates himself because he’s a vampire, right? So, I don’t know; maybe he’s going to project.”
In related news, producer Julie Plec also revealed that Stefan is going to go even darker this season,and may never really find his way back to being nice,good, Stefan anymore because he’s so damaged. Stay tuned. Season 4 debuts on October 11th,2012.
Executive producer Julie Plec has told Wetpaint Entertainment, “There is an overreaching arc of evil, and this year, we’re doing something a little different in that we don’t know or say who that is right away. …that’s a question we’ll be asking a lot in the first few episodes as we build up to our first kind of reveal of the season’s bad guy.” These characters are going to have a lot on their hands already that has been revealed. There’s the vampire hunter, Connor, coming to town. Klaus is still around, and there’s always going to be trouble when the Original is a factor.
There’s the fact that Alaric clued the Council in on what Tyler and Caroline are, and just because Alaric’s dead doesn’t mean that they’re just going to forget that. Will the new threat have anything to do with any of that, or will it be something else they have to deal with on top of all of it?
Elena is going to be a vampire in The Vampire Diaries season 4 and her emotions are going to be heightened. That includes the protective nature she has regarding her friends and family, and that means that while “Jeremy is now the man of the house, for reals,” as Plec explained, “Elena as the fiercest protector of them all is not going to be so quick as to just hand over the reins of authority or big sisterhood.
” Jeremy is going to have to figure out how he fits in now, and Plec did add, “the thing that we shouldn’t forget is that he’s got this legacy in his family of vampire hunters, and we have a new vampire hunter coming to town.” What will this mean for Jeremy’s arc this season? Will Jeremy have to protect Elena from this new vampire hunter while she adapts to being a vampire? One relationship that should be interesting to watch for any changes is that between Elena and Jeremy now that she’s a vampire.
They don’t have anyone left in their family but each other, but they are going to have to figure some things out.
Finally, there’s Meredith, who had given Elena the vampire blood when she needed it. She couldn’t have known what was going to happen and that Elena would die and become a vampire, but that doesn’t mean there’s not the possibility of some anger directed her way.
Like Damon, she lost Alaric, so could she decide to leave Mystic Falls? According to Plec, “Meredith has a big choice to make. She just found herself kind of plopped right in the center of this whole supernatural universe. Does she want to stay in it, or does she want to get out? Does she want to be Damon’s new drinking buddy, or does she want to keep her distance? What is her future? So we’ll see her asking herself that question too early on.”
Damon is going to need a “new drinking buddy,” and it would be interesting to see what would happen if Meredith did become that person, but even if she doesn’t, their interactions are something to watch since she did give Elena the vampire blood. Perhaps Damon will focus his frustrations on his brother and Matt though, and Meredith will be able to figure out what she wants to do next without that.
