The singer, who is popularly known by his fans as Mukanya (Lion of Zimbabwe), left Zimbabwe more than a decade ago for Oregon in the United States of America. He claimed he was being persecuted and intimidated by politicians.

Mukanya wrote on his Facebook page that his fans across Africa should prepare themselves as he will entertain them with this new album.

“We thank you all for your support in 2013; we hope you had a refreshing end of the year with the present we gave you through the Golden Classics collection”.

He joined his first band, the Zutu Brothers as a singer at the age of 16. From then he was always in one band or another. He has also toured many countries, signing and speaking about the economic, social and political problems in Zimbabwe.
