It has been reported that 42 people have been killed in Ecuador after a bus reared of the highway and overturned.

Officials say that at least eleven others have been injured in the accident which occurred at about 3.30 am.

Reports have said that the bus crash occurred on a well paved strip of road and it is suspected that the driver may have fallen asleep.
