Number of killed police officers on duty increases in USA.

Washington / NationalTurk – The number of killed policemen on duty in the U.S. increased this year 14% compared with last years stats, informed on Tuesday the National Fund for Support to Agents of Order (FNA).

‘We are going through a stage of more violence and cold blood assassinations in the USA, stated Craig Floyd, main spokesman of the NGO.

Craig Floyd presided last Monday the funeral of the veteran patrolman Peter Figoski, who was killed trying to stop a robbery in the town of Cypress Hills, Brooklyn. Last week saw the shooting of another police officer at Virginia Tech.

According to the report, so far December 2011, 62 U.S. agents were killed in exchanges of fire with criminals, other 60 in events related to the drug trafficking and 44 for other incidents.

The worst is that this increase of deaths and the general negative trend are in accordance with a federal policy of drastic budget cuts in our departments, Floyd added.

Nationally in 2008 the rate of policemen deaths in USA was of 250 officers every 100,000 people and this rate decreased since the last summer to 181 every 100,000.
