Bayern Munich and World Cup ace Arjen Robben out for two months

Dutch and Bayern Munich midfielder Arjen Robben, has been ruled out of action for at least 2-months after doctors found a torn muscle in the influential players left thigh.

The news came as a huge blow to both Bayern Munich and Robben as the injury emerged during a routine check with club doctors.

Robben was a hugely influential play for the German giants playing a major part in Bayern Munich winning the Bundesliga, German Cup and reaching the finals of the Champions League last season after being transferred from Real Madrid.

The Dutch winger was also influential in Holland reaching the finals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The 26-year-old is ruled out of action for the first two months of the Bundesliga which will start towards the end of August and will also miss Champions League matches.

The influential midfielder was injured during a pre- World Cup friendly against Hungary on June 5th and damaged muscle fibres in the same thigh.

However the Dutch International managed to continues with the Holland World Cup campaign despite rumors that he might miss out in the tournament.

UEFA.com sighted Robben as saying “This diagnosis after my return [to training] is a shock for me, I am very disappointed. The injury is a bitter blow for me and the team.”
