Brazilian football legend Pele was released from a hospital in Brazilian city Sao Paulo Tuesday.
Pele suffered from a urinary tract infection and was getting treatment at the Albert Einstein Hospital.
The 74-year-old legend said he was glad to have recovered from his illness.
“I am very well and I recovered. I can now prepare for Olympics,” he said.
Pele said he was overwhelmed with the get well soon messages he received from his fans in China, Pakistan and many European countries.
“Receiving support from people waiting for good news about me, from around the world makes me happy,” he said.
Pele’s treatment is expected to continue at his home.
Pele underwent a renal calculus surgery at the hospital. He was re-hospitalized due to urinary tract infection after being released from the same hospital. His recent treatment at the hospital lasted for 16 days.
