Concern continues to grow / Health problems: Queen Elizabeth II cancels the appointment

After several canceled events, the British Queen will also not attend the Royal Family’s traditional Easter Sunday service. This raises new concerns about their health among the people.

It’s a long-cherished family tradition: on Easter weekend, the British royals gather at Windsor Castle and go to church together in St. George’s Chapel on Sunday morning. A custom that Queen Elizabeth II always maintained. But this year the 95-year-old will not take part.

The reason: health problems. This was reported, among other things, by the PA news agency and the tabloid “Sun” on Thursday. For the British people, this increases concern for the monarch. The Queen, who is celebrating her 70th anniversary of the throne this year, had recently canceled several events.

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla represent the Queen

She also did not attend the Royal Maundy service on Maundy Thursday. Heir to the throne Prince Charles and his wife Duchess Camilla represent the Queen at this ceremony, during which the monarch usually presents elderly members of the community with specially minted coins.

The 95-year-old has been struggling with complaints for months. In the fall of last year, she even had to spend a night in the hospital. In February she was infected with Corona and has felt “tired and exhausted” since then, as she recently revealed in a digital audience.

Since then, the Queen has mainly carried out her royal duties from her Windsor Castle residence and prefers virtual audiences. Only at the memorial service for her husband Prince Philip, who died in 2021, did she briefly appear in public at the end of March.
