Four dead people, a woman and three children were found in the rubble of a family house in Loučka in the Vsetín region after Sunday’s explosion.
The police have preliminarily classified the case as murder, now awaiting the autopsy results. A 31-year-old man who was airlifted to the burn center of the Ostrava University Hospital suffered severe injuries during the explosion. The man’s condition remains serious.
“On Sunday evening, we found four dead bodies in the rubble of the house. There is one woman and three children. We preliminarily classified the case as murder. We are now awaiting the results of the autopsy,” said regional police spokeswoman Simona Kyšnerová on Monday. According to her, the police will not publish further information now.
The house is located on the southern edge of the village. Inside the damaged building and in its immediate vicinity, regional criminalists and firefighters now work, and there is also a policewoman with a dog in the house. The street in which the remains of the house stand is blocked with tape so that no unauthorized person can get to the building.
A rescue helicopter transported a 31-year-old man to the burn center of the University Hospital in Ostrava after the explosion. According to rescue service spokesman Jakub Omelka, he was in immediate danger of death. “When our crew arrived, he was out of the house, he remained unconscious, he suffered numerous burns. He was in a stable condition during the transport,” Omelka said on Sunday.
The house exploded on Sunday morning. According to pictures published by the fire brigade, the explosion significantly damaged the building, a large part of the house collapsed. Since Sunday morning, firefighters have been dismantling the construction of the building and ensuring the statics of the building, and the USAR team of the Moravian-Silesian Region for search and rescue in the rubble and the Hlučín Rescue Unit were also called in.
According to the mayor of the village, the family that lived in Loučka in the Vsetín region in a house damaged by Sunday’s explosion was not a problem. They were three children with a mother from Slovakia and a father who was Czech. They lived in the house for less than four years, Mayor Jaromír Kořístka (unknown) told reporters near the scene on Monday morning.
“They haven’t lived here that long, they’ve lived here for less than four years, so you can’t say you know them as Loučka natives. Just some general information, of course from your neighbors. I’ve only been in direct contact with them a few times. I don’t know that there are any problems here, “said Kořístka. He is convinced that if it was a troubled family, he would know about it.
According to him, the explosion probably did not damage the surrounding properties. Given how fresh the event is, the mayor did not want to estimate the consequences for life in the village. According to him, about 800 people live in Loučka.
