Donald Trump and Melania Trump touched down in London to begin their second official state visit to the United Kingdom, making history as the first U.S. presidential couple to be welcomed back for a second full ceremonial visit. The Trumps spent the night at Winfield House, the U.S. ambassador’s residence, before heading into a packed schedule of royal engagements.
Melania Trump embraces refined British elegance
Stepping off Air Force One at London Stansted Airport, Melania Trump wore a belted sand-toned Burberry trench coat, Saint Laurent sunglasses and leather riding boots by Christian Dior. For the state banquet later that evening, she opted for a striking off-the-shoulder canary yellow gown from Carolina Herrera, paired with emerald earrings and nude stilettos.
In her second tenure as First Lady, Trump has increasingly favored American designers such as Adam Lippes, Ralph Lauren and Thom Browne, reflecting her husband’s “buy American” stance. Even so, she continues to accessorize with luxury European staples, from Hermès Kelly bags to Manolo Blahnik pumps.
Full royal reception at Windsor Castle
Donald Trump and Melania Trump were greeted at Windsor Castle by Charles III, Camilla, Catherine, Princess of Wales and Prince William, with a red carpet ceremony and a full state banquet held in their honor.
Melania Trump is also expected to join Camilla for a private tour of the Royal Library and Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House, before meeting Catherine, Princess of Wales at Frogmore Gardens to visit youth members of the Scouts’ Squirrels program. The couple will continue their visit with a series of high-profile events alongside senior members of the royal family.
