Egypt has opened a consular office in northern Iraq, becoming the first Arab state to open a consulate in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdish region.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Aboul Gheit was also present at the opening ceremony held on Sunday in Arbil, the capital of the Kurdish regional governmen.
