Google Pixel Watch / Forgotten in the restaurant: Google’s smartwatch images surfaced

Google could soon introduce its first own Smart Watch. A prototype was left behind in a bar and images of the watch immediately hit the internet.

The signs of a possible presentation of Google’s first smart watch are becoming concrete: just a few days ago, tech journalists discovered that Google had recently had the “Pixel Watch” brand name protected. And just a few days earlier, well-known tech leaker Evan Blass had published the computer image of a round Google Smart Watch.

At the weekend, the rumors about Google’s clock continued to grow – because photos of a specific device appeared for the first time. The watch was apparently left in a restaurant in the US a few weeks ago. However, after nobody asked for it, the barman passed his find on to a tech-savvy friend. He immediately recognized that the device was something special, photographed the device and sent the pictures to Android Central, because he suspected the greatest range there.

In a Reddit post, the current owner of the watch revealed himself and explained the background of how he got the watch. The photos on Android Central show the watch without the strap attached. That’s because he only received it afterwards from a friend of his, the barman. The bracelet was not connected to the watch and was packed in a separate bag. The people who forgot the clock in the restaurant are said to have had a whole range of smartphones and devices with them.

The finders could not report anything about the functions of the watch, as it was left in the bar without a charger and only had some residual energy immediately after it was found. However, trying to start the watch only got as far as a glowing Google logo. There may not be a full operating system installed on the watch.

In terms of dimensions, the watch is about the same as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 46mm, which can also be seen in the top right of the article image. The processing quality should be the same as that of the Apple Watch, the device looks like a premium product, the owner explained on Reddit.

Unfortunately, the find does not reveal exactly how Google’s Smart Watch will be equipped and when it will actually be on the market. After Apple has been the market leader in the smart watch segment for several years, Google should have an interest in entering the market with its own product in the foreseeable future.
