Hamit Altintop set to leave Real Madrid for Galatasaray

Turkish national  midfielder appears to be surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu, and is expected to seal a move to the Istanbul giants shortly

The 29-year-old joined Los Blancos from Bayern Munich ahead of the 2011-12 campaign, but failed to make an impact in his first season at the club, and is expected to move on again. Samsunspor forward Simon Zenke posted a picture of him and Altintop on his Twitter account earlier this week, claiming that the midfielder was ready to leave Spain.

The Nigeria international refused to comment on Altintop’s destination, but it now appears that he is on his way to Galatasaray. “With Hamit Altintop of Real Madrid, cool guy, I am happy he’s coming to Turkey, but where? Top secret!

“I am sorry guys. He told me where he’ll be going, but I can’t reveal that to you unfortunately. But he’s 99.9 per cent sure of coming to Turkey. ” Altintop started his professional career with Wattenscheid and also played for Schalke before joining Bayern in 2007.
