Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to visit France.

New Delhi, July 1/Nationalturk – France has invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the country.

Foreign Minister of France, Laurent Fabius, called on Indian PM, Narendra Modi in Indian capital New Delhi today, and invited him to visit France.

“Both sides reiterated their commitment to further strengthen and expand the bilateral relationship between the two countries. The issue of terrorism also figured in the talks,” an Indian government spokesman said.

He said while welcoming French Foreign Minister, Modi remarked that yesterday he had an opportunity to witness the launch of the French satellite, SPOT-7, which was placed in orbit by Indian Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle from Sriharikota in Southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

‘French cooperation sought in urban planning, heritage conservation’

Recalling the strategic and friendly ties between the two countries, Indian PM sought French cooperation in the field of urban planning and heritage conservation.

He observed that France had provided technical support for the Ahmedabad Heritage Project. “India planned to build heritage cities and 100 new smart cities. France has the expertise to help us in this regard”.

Indian PM also sought French cooperation in the fields of tourism, skill development and low-cost defence manufacturing.

French Foreign Minister said France was keen to expand the cooperation and the relationship, following the assumption of office by the new government in India.

He invited Indian PM Narendra Modi to visit France and discussed the student exchange programme, and further deepening of the technological cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Ambassador of India to France Francois Richier, Ambassador of France to India, and other officials.
