Manchester  United’s D-Day on Lucas Moura set

Brazil attacking midfielder Lucas Moura has reiterated that he will not make a decision on his future until after the Olympics, following reports linking him with Manchester United.

Lucas, 19, is currently in the United Kingdom with Brazil’s Olympic football side and made a substitute appearance at Old Trafford on Sunday as the side beat Belarus 3-1 to progress to the quarter-finals.

Sao Paulo president Juvenal Juvencio has insisted he has no intention of selling Brazil star Lucas Moura.

Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted that United are going to get Moura and the clubs are working towards a deal.

Ferguson, who has already added midfielders Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell to his squad this summer, admitted Lucas is among his remaining targets during the Red Devils’ pre-season trip to China.

He told a press conference: “We have shown an interest, but until such time we get a deal agreed, we can’t say he’s our player.”

At £26 million deal being reported, it is not a done deal yet.

It is reported that Manchester United have had a €36 million bid rejected for the Sao Paulo youngster, with the Brazilian club holding out for €40 million.

After the game at Old Trafford, Lucas told ESPN Brasil: “At the moment I’m a São Paulo player and I’m focused on the Olympics.

“I don’t want to worry about this. If I am meant to leave now, it will happen. Otherwise, I’ll remain calm because I’m still very young.

“After the Olympics are over, I’ll decide. If I stay at Sao Paulo, I’ll be happy because it’s the club where I started my career.”

Lucas Moura has already made 15 appearances for his country, scoring once in a victory over Argentina.
