Mao hailed on 120th birth anniversary in China

Dressed in the uniforms of the Red Army, almost a hundred people marched through a five-kilometer route that Mao and his soldiers had walked for two years, which is called “Long March”

Mao Zedong, founder father of China, is commemorated with various events across the country for 120th anniversary of his birth.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang have gathered on Wednesday with seven members of politburo (Chinese Communist Party) for the memorial service in Great Public Hall in Beijing to mark the occasion. Then the authorities including the President visited Mao’s mouseleum and offered flowers to the statue of Mao.

The ceremony was also participated by admirers from across the country at a memorial hall established to remember the leader.

Hundred marched for the memory of Mao and Chinese Red Army

In another event near the Jinggang Mountains, regarded as the cradle of the Chinese revolution led by Mao Zedong, visitors tried to catch the captures from the tough life of Mao and Chinese Red Army troops.

Almost a hundred people in uniforms of Red Army marched through a five-kilometer route to commemorate Mao and his soldiers who had walked for two years in between October 1933 and October 1935.

Meanwhile, symposiums paying tribute to Mao Zedong have been held in the northern province of Hebei in Xibaipo. The village served as the headquarters of Chinese Communist Party’s in the late 1940s.

In Yan’an, another key base of the Red Army, where Mao conducted the “peasant resistance” against Japan from his office, an art gallery featuring the Chinese revolution has been exhibited.

Creator of China

Born in 1893, Mao Zedong was the leader of the Chinese Communist Party, the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA). He served as Chairman of the PRC from 1949 till his death in 1976, and is considered as one of the most influential and decisive figures in modern world history.

Mao implemented very disputed policies such as “cultural revolution”, a different interpretation of Marxism.

His embalmed body in the mouseleum in Tianmamen Square, foremost gathering center in China, is still attracted by many visitors.
