Spain’s Nadal, the top seeded player coming into the tournament, defeated the Austrian 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 to claim his 17th Grand Slam title.
On Saturday, Simona Halep from Romania defeated the American Sloane Stephens 2-1 to claim the women’s French Open title.
