
A female Pakistani singer was shot dead by unidentified gunmen northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar.
Islamabad, June 19/Nationalturk – A 38-year-old female Pakistani singer was shot dead by unidentified gunmen northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar in restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province last evening.
Security officials said four gunmen barged into the residence of female singer Gulnar in Peshawar last evening.
“After verbal scuffle, the gunmen fired indiscriminately on her. She sustained multiple bullet injuries and was rushed to hospital, where she later succumbed,” they said adding assailants managed to escape from the area after the incident.
Immediate after the incident, police men and officials reached the spot and collected forensic evidence. “We have launched investigations and attackers would soon be identified and arrested,” a police officer said.
The singer Gulnar originally hails from Par Hoti area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mardan district.
Also known as Muskan, the singer had married thrice.
No group has claimed responsibility of her killing.
