Putin visited an open training session of the country’s top wrestlers at the St. Petersburg Moscow Arena, where he showed off his form following a warm welcome by fellow sportsmen.
Putin, who was in his hometown on a work visit, could not resist joining the event.
After an official ceremony, the judo black belt holder gave a masterclass.
The 58-year-old politician is sometimes dubbed as action man due to athletic events he attends.
