Rihanna has gone and made our Thursday by revealing she’ll launch her River Island collection at London Fashion Week.
The songstress’ eagerly-awaited collaboration with the high street fashion retailer will be showcased on Saturday, February 16 in the fashionable calendar.
Ri Ri has already teased fans with a sneaky glimpse of what the range might look like, after she tweeted a picture of her on the campaign shoot in a navy jumpsuit with plaid detailing.
Speaking about the launch, Rihanna revealed: “Launching at London Fashion Week is a dream come true for me.
“I have wanted to design my own collection for a long time and to present my collection for River Island alongside all of the other great design talent at LFW is a real privilege.
“I can’t wait to see the reaction from my fans and the fashion press!”
Ben Lewis, River Island chief executive, added: “We are very excited to present our Rihanna for River Island collection at London Fashion Week.
“This is the perfect platform to showcase Rihanna’s design talent and ambition.”
The collection will launch globally in River Island stores and online on Tuesday March, 5 and exclusively in the United States and Japan at Opening Ceremony.
If you haven’t started getting excited about Rihanna’s debut collection for River Island, then prepare for a sudden surge of anticipation and shopping urges.
Taking the hands on approach to working with the British high-street store, RiRi has also turned director for the line’s first ad campaign.
Teasing us with a behind-the-scenes snap on Twitter, she wrote, “Just directed my first ad campaign for my new collection with River Island, Spring.”
Ripped denim, tartan, leather panels, sheer skirts and slogan prints all feature in the new pic as RiRi is pictured on set with three gorgeous models. Wah!
