Sant Ambroeus opens a new restaurant in Milano

New York's hottest restaurant returns to its hometown. / Sant Ambroeus Milano

Launched in 1936 in Milan (for more than 50 years), then in 2003 in New York, by Gherardo Guarducci and the Pauli family, Sant Ambroeus quickly became an institution.

Frequented by fashionable and arty people from all over the world, the place owes its fame to its warm Italian-style café atmosphere and its comforting menu of antipasti, creamy pastries and other traditional lattes.

And a big novelty for 2022, the Italian restaurant is going back to basics. With the inauguration of an address located in its original location. Decorated by the interior designer Fabrizio Casiraghi (already behind Drouant or even La Ponche in Saint-Tropez), the decor is inspired by the 1930s structure of the building and mixes woodwork, mosaics and velvet benches.

Created under the leadership of Iacopo Falai, the menu brings together signature recipes such as the famous Cotoletta alla Milanese and spaghetti al Pomodoro, but also novelties such as linguine with parsley or a New England lobster roll. All accompanied by wines from small Italian producers, but also cocktails. Notice to amateurs.
