Somalian Mothers Wants to Leave Their Children under Turkish Doctors’ Care

In a desperate situation in consequence of famine and drought Somalian mothers consider entrusting their children to a loving and caring person, Turkish doctors.

International Health and Education Association (USEDER) doctors who are directed to Somalian capital Mogadishu by Kimse Yok mu (Is there anybody) association has examined 2100 patients mostly children and women traveling through 8 camps in 6 days.

Faruk Ozdemir, the Health Coordinator of USEDER, said in an interview that one of the patients wanted to leave her children with them. “Her husband working away from the family, she can not afford to raise her children by herself. Fears them to be snatched outside of the tent” added doctor.

Due to the living conditions in the country kids are suffering from diarrhea, measles and inflammatory diseases.
