The number of people believed to have caught swine flu in Scotland rose by almost 15% in Christmas week, figures have revealed.
It is estimated 7,240 people across Scotland caught the infection in the seven day period: a 14.7% increase on the previous week’s total of 6,310.
However Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon said the number of people infected tended to fluctuate from week to week but that the number of cases has generally been in decline.
