Hiddink had a brief spell in charge of Chelsea when he was also coach of Russia in 2009, but Turkish Football Federation denies the possibility of Hiddink coaching both a national and a club team, depending on a clause in his contract with Turkey.<\/h2>\n

Turker Tozar, Turkey’s senior national team communications manager said “Only last week we refused an approach for him from Ajax and the contract between him and our president (Mahmut Ozgener) does not allow him to work for a club while he is working for the Turkish national team.There is a specific clause\u00a0and our president would refuse any attempt to change that.<\/p>\n

The communications manager also added, ”If you look at Mr. Guus Hiddink’s career, he has always fulfilled his contract and he has also told us that Turkey could be his last stop as a coach. We would like him to take us to the 2014 World Cup finals.”<\/p>\n

Hiddink has also indicated that he has no intention of moving back to Chelsea.<\/p>\n

However Hiddink\u2019s agent, Cees Van Nieuwenhuizen, has stated that his client will quit if Turkey fail to make this November\u2019s play-offs. The hope at Chelsea is that Turkey will lose their next qualifier, against Belgium in June, which would lead to Hiddink\u2019s departure.<\/p>\n
