Caracas \/ NationalTurk – Hugo Chavez started his speech ‘Sadly the death of Muammar Gaddafi has been confirmed, upon his return to Venezuela from another cancer treatment in havana, Cuba.<\/p>\n

‘Libya has assassinated Gaddafi. This is another outrage’ the excentric Venezuelan leader told members media, adding ‘We shall remember Gaddafi our whole lives as a great fighter, a revolutionary and a martyr’<\/p>\n

Hugo Chavez had defended Muammar Gaddafi since the start of the Nato led uprising against the Libyan leader’s regime in February, and accused NATO and USA of using the conflict and disorder to gain control over Libya’s oil reserves.<\/p>\n

‘The saddest thing is that in its quest to dominate the world, the empire and its allies are setting it on fire,’ Hugo Chavez stated, referring to the US by his preferred nickname, ‘the evil empire’.<\/p>\n

Hugo Chavez has refused to recognise the new Libyan regime, the National Transition Council, and has ridiculed Libya’s new UN representative as a ‘puppet’ and a ‘dummy’.<\/p>\n

Venezuela President Hugo Chavez was awarded\u00a0the Al-Kadhafi International Prize for Human Rights \u00a0in 2004, a prize granted by the former Libyan leader on its glorious days.
