They call him already ‘the Kid of Besiktas’ here in Istanbul. Deron Williams mesmerizes the Besiktas and basketball fans. D-Will’s latest achievement : dropping 50 in a Eurochallenge game.<\/h1>\n

Istanbul \/ NationalTurk – When an NBA All-Star in his prime signs to play internationally, the immediate expectation is that he will receive a hero’s welcome and proceed to dominate on the court. It hasn’t been that easy for point guard Deron Williams. Since inking a contract with Turkey’s Besiktas last summer, which made him the highest paid Nba player overseas D-Will has admitted that the team isn’t selling out its 3,200-person stadium and has expressed frustration that the NBA lockout is still ongoing. He’s been averaging 20.5 points, 6.8 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game for Besiktas in Turkish league play, but those aren’t the charity game numbers that many people were expecting from one of the world’s elite players against non-NBA competition. After a shocking elimination from Eurocup against an woeful away defeat to Mons from Belgium Deron William stepped up his game and so did Besiktas, the Black Eagles.<\/p>\n

Deron Williams Besiktas adventure continues with career high<\/h2>\n

On Tuesday, Williams finally delivered the type of international smackdown that many had anticipated, but what has heralded its coming with D-Will’s rising performance in every game. D-will netted in 50 points in a 105-94 Eurochallenge Cup win over German club Goettingen Williams shot 17-for-23 from the field, hitting seven 3-pointers. Deron Williams supreme effort of 50 points is his career high and all-time Eurochallenge high.<\/p>\n

The most points ever scored by Williams in the NBA came in a 2010 when he played for the Utah Jazz against the Oklahoma City Thunder and poured in 42. Guard\/forward David Hawkins finished with 23 points for Besiktas, who improved to 3-0 in Eurochallenge Group B.<\/p>\n

The only thing to complain is the suprising lack of Besiktas fans interest in Besiktas Basketball games, which feature a World class athlete in Deron Williams, the best NBA player to play in Europe.<\/p>\n
