Oscar Academy Awards 2012 winners declared Sunday where Academy Awards voters have spoken up for ‘The Artist ‘ the first silent film to be victorious on Hollywood’s biggest night since the original Oscar Awards ceremony 83 years ago.<\/h1>\n

Los Angeles \/ NationalTurk –\u00a0The black-and-white movie collected five awards in all, incl. best motion picture, best actor for Jean Dujardin and best director for Michel Hazanavicius. The last time a silent movie was crowned in at the Oscars was when the World War I saga ‘ Wings ‘ was awarded as the outstanding picture at the very first Oscars back in 1929.<\/p>\n

The 84th Annual Academy Awards 2012 in Hollywood had been announced in California at renown Kodak Theatre hosted by Billy Crystal ‘the host ‘ for the 9th time.<\/p>\n

Billy Crystal got the ceremony off to a lively start with a star-laden parody in which he hung out with Justin Bieber and got a wet kiss from George Clooney. Back as Oscar host for the ninth time, Crystal also did his signature introduction of the best-picture nominees with a goofy song.<\/p>\n

Merly Streep’s win was her first Oscar in 29 years, since she won best actress for ‘ Sophie’s Choice.’ She had lost 13 times in a row since then. Merly Streep also won a supporting-actress Oscar for 1979’s “Kramer vs. Kramer,” and has earned a total of 17 nominations, which is an astonishing Hollywood record.<\/p>\n

Iran’s “A Separation,” a taut family drama, on Sunday took home the Oscar for best foreign language film, after winning a series of other awards season prizes. Iranian\u00a0Director Asghar Farhadi dedicated the award to Iranians ‘ who despise hostility and resentment,’ and referred to current tension between Iran and the West, as the film bested movies from Belgium, Poland, Canada and Iran’s arch-enemy Israel. Iran regards the winning of the Oscar award as a victory over Israel, but Farhadi’s acceptance speech was focused on poltics that drives the world headlong into a war.<\/p>\n

“At this time, many Iranians all over the world are watching us and I imagine them to be very happy,” Asghar Farhadi\u00a0expressed, reading from prepared remarks on a piece of paper.<\/p>\n

“They are happy not just because of an important award or a film or a filmmaker, but because at the time when talk of war, intimidation and aggression is exchanged between politicians, the name of their country, Iran, is spoken here through her glorious culture, her rich and ancient culture that has been hidden under the heavy dust of politics.” he stated.<\/p>\n
