Turton was attacked and killed by a crocodile, reports from the area indicate.<\/p>\n<p>Rescuers have found an inflatable dinghy, thought to have been used by the pair with puncture marks that could have been caused by a crocodile.<\/p>\n<h3>Crocodile attack in India : One Briton munched by mugger croc, second still missing<\/h3>\n<p>Mr Turton&#8217;s travelling companion Michael Easton, from London, is still missing, and is feared dead and also been munched by crocodiles. The 800km Cauvery River is said to be infested with crocodiles.<\/p>\n<p>It runs across three southern Indian states including Tamil Nadu where Mr Turton was working for US company Tenneco Automotive.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Mr Turton&#8217;s employer paid tribute to him &#8211; Sandro Paparelli, vice president and general manager of Tenneco Ride Control Europe, stated, &#8216; Ian was a valued member of our advanced manufacturing and engineering team and worked in a variety of Tenneco locations to support the company&#8217;s international expansion.&#8217;<\/p>\n<h4>Bangalore, India : Death of Briton following fatal crocodile attack confirmed<\/h4>\n<p>&#8221; Ian was a much appreciated colleague and leaves many friends all over the Tenneco world. &#8216; We are all profoundly saddened by this tragic loss of life and extend our deepest sympathies to Ian&#8217;s family and friends.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday Mr Turton&#8217;s brother Nigel described him as a &#8216; very resourceful, adventurous man&#8217;. The British foreign office stated authorities are continuing to search the area infested by crocodiles.<\/p>\n<p>A spokeswoman stated, &#8216; We can confirm the death of a British national while on an excursion on the Cauvery River near Bangalore, India. Another British national is still missing.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The local authorities continue their search efforts in the area.
