Prince William had to steel himself not to cry over his late mum as he wed Kate Middleton last year, he has revealed.<\/h1>\n

Prince William, 29, told for the first time of his anguish that Diana did not live to meet Kate or to be with them on their big day.\u00a0But he said he felt his mother would have enjoyed the wedding and been proud of the couple.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI sort of prepared myself beforehand so that I was mentally prepared… I didn\u2019t want any wobbly lips or anything going on.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the one time since she\u2019s died, where I\u2019ve … I\u2019ve thought to myself it would be fantastic if she was here, and just how sad really for her, more than anything, not being able to see it.<\/p>\n

William’s\u00a0on Princess Diana heartache<\/h2>\n

\u201cI think she would have loved the day and I think, hopefully, she\u2019d be very proud of us both for the day. I\u2019m just very sad that she\u2019s never going to get a chance to meet Kate.\u201d<\/p>\n
