Science fiction author Ray Bradbury left an indelible stamp on both science and fiction with his work. He died in Los Angeles, California at age 91.<\/h1>\n

Ray Bradbury – the science fiction icon\u00a0wrote hundreds of novels, short stories, plays and television and film scripts in a career dating back to the 1940s.\u00a0Bradbury’s books and about 6 hundred short stories predicted a variety of things, including the emergence of ATMs and live broadcasts of fugitive car chases. The readers \u00a0still remember his most famous novels like ” Fahrenheit 451 “,\u00a0” The Martian Chroniclesand ” and ” Something Wicked This Way Comes. ”<\/p>\n

Ray Bradbury’s death brought immediate reaction from his literary and film peers, as well as the White House.\u00a0He came of age before the era of human space travel and lived to see men walk on the moon and landers touch down on the red \u00a0Mars planet.\u00a0In his career spanning more than seventy years, the science fiction author Ray Bradbury has inspired generations of readers to dream, think and creative thinking. A prolific author of hundreds of short stories and close to 50 books, as well as numerous poems, essays, operas, plays, teleplays and screenplays, Ray Bradbury – the Sci-fi icon was one of the most celebrated writers in time of his existence.<\/p>\n

Ray Bradbury lived in Los Angeles since he and his family moved there from his native Illinois, to look for work during the Great Depression. \u00a0Marguerite Bradbury, Ray’s wife has died in 2003 aged only 57. He is survived by his 4 daughters : Susan Nixon, Ramona Ostergren, Bettina Karapetian and Alexandra Bradbury, and 8 grandchildren.<\/p>\n

Ray Bradbury Sci-fi writer received the two thousand National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters, the 2007 Pulitzer Prize Special Citation and\u00a0the 2004 National Medal of Arts.<\/p>\n\n
