Rodney King, the ebony man who became the catalyst for the Los Angeles riots in 1992 was found dead June 17 in his California home at the age of 47.<\/p>\n

Robert King was brutally beaten during a regular 1991 traffic stop in Los Angeles, during which he was kicked, stomped, punched, striked, trashed and slapped with fists, police batons and belts more than 50 times by four racist white officers, who were later also accused of using racial slurs during the attack on Rodney King who was 27 years old at the time. The 4 racist white trash police officers also had not been shy of\u00a0using a stun gun on Robert King.\u00a0\u00a0The beating left Robert King fighting for his life, and it took three surgeons hours to save Robert King.<\/p>\n

On March 3, 1991, Robert King was beaten by 4 white and racist Los Angeles Police Department officers after a high-speed car chase. Racist actions turned into an infamous case of police brutality that was captured on camera by a bystander and broadcast around the globe and hell broke out in the USA.<\/p>\n

Following the footage and the release of the video of the beating incident making its way to TV, public outcry had been sparked across the USA. The controversial result of the King’s and the racist police officer’s trial where all the white men were acquitted led to a series of deadly riots and looting in Los Angeles. 50 lives perished in the ensuing days of LA riots and the events in the partly demolished city of angels cost over $1 billion in damages.<\/p>\n

Robert King\u2019s representative says \u00a0King’s fiance has\u00a0found his body at the bottom of his pool. Rialto police captain Randy De Anda states emergency personnel tried to revive the 47-year-old with\u00a0cardio pulmonary resuscitation, but Robert King was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. No indications of foul play are suspected so far, Rialto police reports.<\/p>\n

Robert King alleged during the trial that they also used racial slurs during the attack \u2013 an allegation all the officers denied.<\/p>\n

The video appeared on national television two days later, focusing attention on the issue of racially-motivated American police brutality.<\/p>\n

For six days, rioters ran through the streets of LA, torching buildings and looting businesses. The almost week-long violence was responsible for over 50 deaths and more than $1 billion in damages.<\/p>\n

Robert King, who sued Los Angeles City, was found righteous and received $3.8 million in damages<\/p>\n
