Operators expect sales boost after Greece election<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Operators to Greece are hoping for a pick-up in bookings following Greeks election result, which means the country will be staying in the eurozone.<\/h1>\n

The narrow win by the New Democracy party was greeted with relief by operators who hope it will spell an end to uncertainty for the country and its tourism industry.\u00a0Commercial director at Greece specialists Olympic Holidays, Photis Lambrianides\u00a0said the result was ‘ wonderful news ‘. He added also he is\u00a0confident that a new government will be formed very quickly and that confidence in its economy will be reinstated as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

The Bankers said the more upbeat ambience from Greece may be short-lived, given the huge challenges still facing its authorities, but that other upcoming events could supply positive surprises, potentially providing opportunities for bond issuance.<\/p>\n

Experts believes that outcome of Greek elections may boost tourism sales<\/h2>\n

Commercial director\u00a0Photis Lambrianides said :\u00a0‘ It\u2019s probably the best season to visit for many years.\u00a0Even in high season, there are good offers for people to choose from, especially on the bigger islands like Rhodes, Crete and Corfu. ‘<\/p>\n

Greece, which is traditionally a late booking market, has been heavily discounted this summer and Photis\u00a0Lambrianides has told discounts of 30-40 per cent were still available on some dates with some great tourism offers from hotels. In present time, Greece represents the best ever value, with hoteliers bending over backwards to keep the tourism industry going, and the holiday pound worth up to 25 per cent more in resort.<\/p>\n

Eurozone in Greece still safe, customers should not worried<\/h3>\n

Noel Josephides – managing director of Sunvil Holidays has commented : ‘\u00a0There is no doubt we will have to fight hard on price, but that is happening already, there is still a lot of capacity to Greece and at this stage, it\u2019s very difficult for operators to cancel anything.\u00a0Falling incomes in Greece meant that prices in shops and restaurants had also slumped. ‘<\/p>\n

Managing director Noel Josephides says that\u00a0all consumers in Greece could enjoy very keen prices. He added also there was unlikely to be any protests following the election result as the country enters the summer recess and that any demonstrations which take place in the autumn would be restricted to Athens.<\/p>\n

A lot of changes after Greece elections 2012<\/h4>\n

Philip Breckner – commercial director of Discover Egypt, said that the victory of the Muslim Brotherhood should not put off visitors as freedoms would not be restricted. ‘\u00a0They have said in their manifesto that tourism is the main industry and that it will be the main focus. ‘ Breckner has commented.<\/p>\n
