Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler has announced he leaves American music show ‘ Idol ‘ to focus on his band. He has been\u00a0a judge on the US program since 2010.<\/h1>\n

‘ American Idol ‘ judge Steven Tyler\u00a0has decided to leave the hit show. Aerosmith frontman says\u00a0he wants to concentrate on his work with his rock band and ‘ first love ‘ , Aerosmith.\u00a0The rocker has been a judge on the United States show since 2010 and was due to continue for its 12th season this autumn.<\/p>\n

After weeks of rumors\u00a0that the other judge – Jennifer Lopez might exit the hit talent show, Steven Tyler has just announced that he will not return to\u00a0American Idol\u00a0as a judge for the next show\u2019s \u00a0season.<\/p>\n

The rock and roll legend Steven Tyler has been a judge on American Idol alongside Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez, the latter of whom is also said to be considering her future on the show.<\/p>\n

The 64-year-old rock singer Steven Tyler made his announcement in a statement released by the FOX network this week.\u00a0The Aerosmith group is touring North America this summer and is set to release its 15th studio album, the band’s first major record in 8 years.<\/p>\n

On the 11th season finale of ‘ American Idol ‘, he sang with Aerosmith on stage, marking the first time the band members performed on the show since Steven Tyler became a judge. They played their upcoming album’s first single, ‘ Legendary Child. ‘\u00a0As Steven Tyler leaves the show behind, it is feared that American Idol will continue to lose viewers as it has done since Simon Cowell’s departure from the show two years ago, when he left to launch The X Factor US.<\/p>\n

FOX\u2019s President of Alternative Entertainment Mike Darnell praised Tyler for his 2 years on the music show American Idol. He said : ‘\u00a0He\u2019s been a terrific judge, a true friend and great mentor to everyone involved with the show, and we know he\u2019ll continue to be a huge inspiration to”Idol” hopefuls for years to come. We are very sad that Steven has chosen to focus more on his music, but we always knew when we hired a rock \u2019n\u2019 roll legend, he would go back to the music.\u00a0We all wish him all the best and would love to have him back on the show anytime. ‘<\/p>\n

There is now a question mark over whether Jennifer Lopez will return for the 12th season, despite a contract worth a reported 12 million dollars and the show’s undoubted boost to her career.\u00a0Speaking to the Press Association after Aerosmith singer Steve Tyler’s announcement, Jennifer Lopez has said she was saddened to hear that he was leaving and was weighing up her own decision. Jennifer\u00a0Lopez has already indicated that there is a strong likelihood that she will not return.<\/p>\n

She has commented : ‘\u00a0I can’t even imagine anyone else there right now because I’ve just spent two years sitting next to him.\u00a0I love Steven, and we became close during that time. We were a great support for each other, on an adventure that neither one of us knew what it was going to be. So it’s hard to hear that he won’t be doing it. ‘<\/p>\n

Speculation about potential new panelists has focused on Mariah Carey, with former Idol runner-up Adam Lambert a popular choice among fans.<\/p>\n\n
