France’s far right National Front will sue Madonna after she screened footage of party leader Marine Le Pen with a swastika superimposed on her face at a concert in Paris.<\/h1>\n

France’s National Front says it plans to sue Madonna over a video at the US pop diva concert in France showing politician Marine Le Pen with a swastika on her forehead.<\/p>\n

The video shown on a huge screen has already been used on other legs of the United States singer’s tour and shows the Madonna’s face merging with other public figures, such as Pope Benedict XVI and former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, who was toppled by popular protests last year in Egypt. Also\u00a0Chinese leader Hu Jintao and United States Republican Sarah Palin.<\/p>\n

In the clip, shown on a giant screen to accompany the song ‘ Nobody Knows Me ‘, Marine Le Pen appears with the Nazi symbol swastika overlaid on her face, just before an image resembling Adolf Hitler.<\/p>\n

National Front vice-president Florian Philippot said : ‘\u00a0This is just another provocation in Madonna’s world tour so that people will talk about her.\u00a0Marine Le Pen will defend not only her own honour but her supporters and the millions of National Front voters ‘.<\/p>\n

France’s party leader Marine Le Pen won 18 percent of the vote in the first round of France’s presidential election and has tried to remove extremist elements and crack down on anti-Semitism.<\/p>\n

France’s National Front leader Marine Le Pen, had already warned the US superstar Madonna last month that she was mulling legal action after the video was shown at Tel Aviv gig in May when 53-year-old Madonna, kicked off her world tour.<\/p>\n

The National Front lawyer said that projecting such an image of politician Marine Le Pen with a swastika implies that she is a Nazi, and added\u00a0that the civil complaint for insult against Madonna would be lodged with a court this week.<\/p>\n

The Le Pen swastika regrettable image sent a ripple through the thousands of Madonna’s fans at Le Stade de France, where Madonna was performing as part of her 80-date world tour.<\/p>\n

Tour promoter LiveNation declined to comment on the National Front action against Madonna – the queen of pop, who has been no stranger to controversy during her long world’s career.<\/p>\n

SOS Racisme\u00a0however said it supported Madonna, paying tribute to her\u00a0resolutely anti-racist stance. They said that Madonna made clear last night that the fight against discrimination is a fundamental battle.<\/p>\n

On Madonna’s latest world tour, she made headlines when she flashed a nipple at night at a gig in Turkey’s largest city of Istanbul last month.<\/p>\n

The Paris concert, which was not sold out, is one of two French dates by Madonna this summer. Pop diva is due to perform once again in Nice on 21 August.<\/p>\n\n
