Austrian daredevil landed safely near Roswell, New Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the second stratospheric leap for fearless Felix Baumgartner. He&#8217;s aiming for a record-breaking jump from 125,000 feet (38,100 meters), or 23 miles, in another month. The skydiver Baumgartner\u00a0hopes to go supersonic, breaking the speed of sound with just his body.\u00a0Longtime record-holder Joe Kittinger jumped from 102,800 feet in 1960 for the Air Force. He wore a full-pressure suit and used parachutes.<\/p>\n<h2>Fearless skydiver Felix Baumgartner completes stratospheric leaps<\/h2>\n<p>Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner told before the jump : &#8216;\u00a0The pressure is huge, and we not only have to endure but excel.\u00a0We&#8217;re excellently prepared, but it&#8217;s never going to be a fun day. I&#8217;m risking my life, after all. &#8216;<\/p>\n<p>Austrian daredevil Felix Baumgartner has jumped more than 2,500 times from planes and skyscrapers and now, he&#8217;s training for his biggest leap yet: a 120,000-foot jump to break a 52-year old record.<\/p>\n<p>Felix Baumgartner strapped into a capsule and rose by helium balloon more than 18 miles above Roswell, N.M. and jumped. 96-thousand feet is three times higher than jetliners cruise.\u00a0Felix Baumgartner spent 4 minutes in freefall, reaching a top speed was 536 mph, and landed safely in the desert.<\/p>\n<h3>Pushing the sound barier \/ Felix Baumgartner prepares to break sound barier<\/h3>\n<p>Skydiver star Baumgartner has commented : &#8216; It\u2019s hard to believe it, if you put it that way, but I love it,\u201d added the 43-year-old adventurer, who is looking forward to the historic jump that will also collect important data for the advancement of medical science. \u201cWill I break the sound barrier this summer? Felix\u00a0Baumgartner wants to top that record, with help from his training partner and mentor &#8211; now 83-year-old Joe Kittinger.<\/p>\n<p>Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner says : &#8216; I love the challenge.\u00a0That&#8217;s the reason I became a skydiver, and as soon as I was a skydiver, I was looking for a challenge. &#8230; And based on all these results, we should be ready for the big one. &#8216;<\/p>\n<p>This is not just a crazy publicity stunt.
