{"id":23768,"date":"2012-08-11T15:48:01","date_gmt":"2012-08-11T12:48:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/?p=23768"},"modified":"2024-02-17T12:36:23","modified_gmt":"2024-02-17T09:36:23","slug":"manchester-united-shares-debut-in-new-york-stock-market-man-utd-latest-news-23768","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/manchester-united-shares-debut-in-new-york-stock-market-man-utd-latest-news-23768\/","title":{"rendered":"Manchester United shares debut in New York Stock Market \/ Man Utd Latest News"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/man-utd-new-york-stock-exchange.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23777\" title=\"man utd new york stock exchange\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/man-utd-new-york-stock-exchange-e1344689170557.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"343\" \/><\/a><\/h1>\n<h1>Manchester United News: Flotation Won\u2019t Affect Transfers, Says Gill.<\/h1>\n<p><strong>Manchester United<\/strong>\u00a0will still have money to buy players following their flotation on the New York Stock Exchange, according to the club\u2019s chief executive\u00a0<strong>David Gill<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the owning Glazer family pressed the iconic bell at the Wall Street exchange yesterday morning to signify the commencement of trading in the shares albeit at a level some half a billion dollars lower than had been expected.<\/p>\n<p>United raised \u00a3150million through the share sale with \u00a375million going to the Glazers and another \u00a375million going to pay down some of the club\u2019s debt mountain, but Gill said there would still be money to spend on players despite the appearance that nothing was going directly into the playing side as a result of the flotation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe level of debt that we\u2019ve had at the club since they\u2019ve taken over hasn\u2019t impacted what we\u2019ve done as a team,\u201d Gill said of the club\u2019s time under the Glazers, who bought United in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve won four Premier Leagues, we\u2019ve been to the Champions League final three times, we\u2019ve had ongoing success on the pitch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe fully understand and the owners fully understand that what happens on the pitch is crucial to us and we will make sure there are sufficient funds to invest in the team going forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gill added: \u201cManchester United, ever since I have been involved with it, has had sufficient funds and will continues to have sufficient funds to attract and retain the best players.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s a key part of our business model.
