The couple Avril Lavigne & Chad Kroeger got engaged on August 8, just a mere 6-months after first hooking up to co-write a song for Avril’s upcoming album.<\/p>\n

A friend of Avril\u2019s told to the magazine that\u00a0romantic relationship between Chad and Avril blossomed as they spent time writing together. He said Chad makes Avril so happy and both of their families could not be more excited.\u00a0For Canadian rock music fans this must be a match made in heaven.<\/p>\n

Avril Lavigne was previously hitched to\u00a0Sum 41\u00a0frontman\u00a0Deryck Whibley, with the 2 calling it quits in 2009 after 3 years of marriage. Lavigne was\u00a0recently rumored to be dating Marilyn Manson,\u00a0and also dated Kardashian step-brother Brody Jenner.\u00a0Meanwhile, Chad Kroeger spent six years with Marianne Goriuk.<\/p>\n

Despite the 10 year age, it seems the couple have found love after uniting in February to co-write a song for Avril’s upcoming fifth studio album – the follow up to 2011’s Goodbye Lullaby.<\/span><\/p>\n

The duo Avril Lavigne & Chad Kroeger appear to have confirmed the news themselves on Twitter, with Nickelback initially penning a message, saying: ‘ Congratulations Avril and Chad! ‘<\/span><\/p>\n

27-year-old Avril, then retweeted the message to her 6 million followers online.\u00a0<\/span>She has since gone on to retweet a series of congratulatory messages from friends and fans. Ten years older from his fiancee\u00a0Chad Kroeger is believed to popped the question on August 8, with a 14-carat diamond rock.<\/p>\n\n
