President Abraham Lincoln gets classic Steven Spielberg treatment.<\/h1>\n

After leaked on-set pictures of Daniel Day-Lewis emerged of him having his lunch sporting his bristling Abe Lincoln beard, the web has been alight with talk of potential Oscars before a single millimetre of film has been seen.<\/p>\n

Now we finally have the trailer for Steven Spielberg’s epic telling of the story of the 16th president of the United States, imaginatively titled<\/p>\n

It looks to have all the hallmarks of an Oscar-trawler, with a swelling score, and what looks like a virtuoso performance from Day-Lewis.<\/p>\n

The all-star cast also includes Sally Field as first lady Mary Todd Lincoln, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as their son Robert Todd Lincoln, Tommy Lee Jones as congressional leader Thaddeus Stevens and David Strathairn as secretary of state William Seward.<\/p>\n

There are also roles for ‘Mad Men’s Jared Harris, James Spader, Tim Blake Nelson and Jackie Earle Haley.<\/p>\n
