Manchester United will\u00a0sign in Raphael Varane in winter due to Man Utd\u2019s defensive crisis.<\/h1>\n

Manchester United is facing a severe defensive crisis. With Nemanja Vidic, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones sidelined due to long term injuries Sir Alex Ferguson knows he is facing an uphill battle next month.<\/p>\n

Sir Alex Ferguson is forced to play each game with the only two centre backs he is left; Rio Ferdinand and Jonny Evans. This is bad news because Manchester United is scheduled for tough battles next month.<\/p>\n

Manchester United will play against Tottenham Hotspur. They will then travel to St. James\u2019 Park to play against Newcastle United. Manchester United will be back at Old Trafford in the following week, but they will be up against Stoke City. In the last week of October, Manchester United will have to play against the Champions League winners Chelsea, twice!<\/p>\n

Sir Alex Ferguson and Co. will also be making a trip to Cluj for their Champions League match on October 2.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone knows the situation with our defenders,\u201d Sir Alex Ferguson said in his news conference. \u201cWe are having a hard time with that.<\/p>\n

\u201cNemanja Vidic being out is a blow to us and we simply cannot take a risk with defenders.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just hope if we can get through the next two league games it will give us a little breather and we can start to get one or two of them back.\u201d<\/p>\n

Phil Jones and Nemanja Vidic will return to action in about two months. Meanwhile, Chris Smalling could recover from a broken metatarsal at the start of November.<\/p>\n

Manchester United\u2019s defensive miseries are forcing Sir Alex Ferguson to consider adding reinforcements during the winter transfer window.<\/p>\n

Rumors suggest Manchester United is interested in acquiring the services of Real Madrid\u2019s young centre back Raphael Varane.<\/p>\n

Raphael Varane arrived at Real Madrid from Lens for \u20ac10 million last season. The 19-year-old is yet to make an impact in Spain, but he has already broken into the first team.<\/p>\n

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is unhappy with the performance and attitude of Sergio Ramos. The Portuguese manager has replaced Sergio Ramos with Raphael Varane in the first team \u2013 at least for now.<\/p>\n
