AKP Congress controversy in Turkey : Kurdish leader supposedly supporting Kurdish terrorists gets applause from AKP fans with 'Turkey is proud of you chants'<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Barzani attended the AKP\u2019s convention on Sept 30 and leaders of opposition parties have slammed the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and its leader Erdogan over applause for the puppet of a president of Iraq\u2019s Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Massoud Barzani, at the AKP congress last weekend.<\/h2>\n

Ankara \/ NationalTurk – ‘ Barzani was applauded with enthusiasm, with slogans like \u2018Turkey is proud of you,\u2019 while the CHP was being booed. Why are you proud of Barzani? Is it because he protects the terrorist organization PKK? I condemn this despicable act,’ leader of main opposition Republican People\u2019s Party (CHP) Kemal K\u0131l\u0131\u00e7daro\u011flu stated at his party\u2019s parliamentary group meeting.<\/p>\n

The slogan of the AKP congress was ‘ Great nation, great power, 2023 is the target’. This is a reflection of Tayyip Erdo\u011fan and his AKP\u2019s aspirations to still be in power on the centennial anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey.<\/p>\n

Second biggest opposition party MHP ( Nationalist Movement Party ) leader Devlet Bah\u00e7eli accused the AKP, CHP and BDP ( Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party ) of being on the same side as the Terrorists PKK. ‘ The AKP, CHP, BDP and PKK will probably come together soon and start the process of destroying Turkey. The prime minister\u2019s interest in the killer of \u0130mral\u0131 [ref. to convicted terrorist head of the PKK Abdullah \u00d6calan] confirms this. In this respect, Barzani\u2019s invitation [to the AKP convention ] is not surprising, while Kurdistan maps are being published,’ Bah\u00e7eli stated. ‘ If Turkey is proud of Barzani, how will we explain this bloodshed and the many martyrs? ‘ Devlet Bah\u00e7eli asked.<\/p>\n

Addressing Turkish Parliament\u2019s General Assembly yesterday, AKP parliamentary group deputy chair Nurettin Canikli denied claims that it was not Barzani who was applauded by AKP audience.
