{"id":2728,"date":"2009-12-23T12:14:29","date_gmt":"2009-12-23T10:14:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/?p=2728"},"modified":"2009-12-23T16:19:40","modified_gmt":"2009-12-23T14:19:40","slug":"police-officer-pulls-gun-to-stop-snow-fight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/police-officer-pulls-gun-to-stop-snow-fight\/","title":{"rendered":"Police officer pulls gun to stop snow fight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2729\" title=\"snow fight police\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/snow-fight-police-329x245-custom.jpg\" alt=\"snow fight police\" width=\"329\" height=\"245\" \/>Washington&#8217;s police chief has criticised a veteran detective for pulling a gun during a mass snowball fight. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Authorities have said the detective in question is on desk duty and an investigation has been started.<\/p>\n<p>Cathy Lanier, the Metropolitan police chief has said that she watched the video clips and has no doubt that the off-duty officer pulled his gun after snowballs hit his personal vehicle during Saturday&#8217;s record snowfall.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Let me be very clear in stating that I believe the actions of the officer were totally inappropriate!&#8221; Mrs Lanier said in a statement. &#8220;In no way should he have handled the situation in this manner.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of people were gathered for the snowball fight on a major street during Saturday&#8217;s snowstorm.<\/p>\n<p>See the video of the snow fight and police officer below.<\/p>\n[media id=68 width=610 height=340]\n<p>Videos also show a uniformed police officer holding his gun by his side before holstering it again.
