The outlooks on the long-term ratings are stable.

Manik Narain, emerging market strategist at UBS in London, said many investors already treated Turkey as a quasi-investment grade bet.

“But at the end of the day this will create actual investment inflows and lower borrowing costs,” Narain said.

Moody’s, which upgraded Turkey to Ba1 in June, said last week a history of political friction between secular and religious elements of Turkish society remains a credit challenge for the country.

Fitch Ratings agency has raised Turkey’s investment grade today, a move long coveted by Erdogan’s Ankara government, citing underlying strengths and an easing in near-term risks for the Turkish economy.

[80,68,63,51,17,118,101,184,194,173,14
37337,37338,37335,37336,2853,37344,37339,37342,37343,37340,37341,77182,77184,37333,37332,37330,37331,37334,36132
post-27659","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-breaking-news","category-business","category-daily","category-economy","category-europe","category-hot","category-politics","category-turkey-economy","category-turkey-general","category-turkey-headlines","category-world","tag-erdogan-finch","tag-finance-minister-mehmet-simsek","tag-finch-grade","tag-finch-grade-turkey","tag-fitch-ratings","tag-fitch-ratings-turkey","tag-fitch-turkey-economy","tag-investment-grade","tag-investment-grade-turkey","tag-issuer-default-rating","tag-issuer-default-rating-turkey","tag-turkey","tag-turkey-economy","tag-turkey-economy-grade","tag-turkey-finch","tag-turkey-grade","tag-turkey-investment","tag-turkey-investment-grade","tag-turkish-finance-minister-mehmet-simsek
["GET
