He was on life support.\u00a0India News<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Mumbai \/ NationalTurk &#8211; Bal Thackaray death will leave a legacy of fear in India !\u00a0When Bal Thackeray, a one-time cartoonist turned Hindu fundamentalist leader of India, passed away on Saturday, the city of Mumbai came to a standstill. More than a million people came out to watch the procession, thousands of police, including the Rapid Action Force, were deployed to maintain calm, and commercial businesses chose to shut down.<\/p>\n<p>According to media reports, Thackeray\u2019s health condition deteriorated on last Wednesday evening and since then he is on life support.<\/p>\n<p>A group of doctors and paramedics are monitoring his situation round the clock at his Mumbai\u2019s &#8216;Matoshree&#8217; residence. Thousands of his party workers assembled outside his house after the news about his worsening health condition spread. We are facing a crisis, we shall overcome,\u201d he told them.<\/p>\n<p>He appealed people to remain calm and pray for his fast recovery.<\/p>\n<p>Several film personalities including Amitabh Bachan, his son Abhishek Bachan, Sanjay Dutt visited Thakeray and enquired about his health.<\/p>\n<p>Sources said Amitabh and his son sustained minor injuries in the rowdy crowds. \u201cYes both Abhishek and me were injured with cuts, but are fine and back home,\u201d the senior Bachchan wrote on Twitter.<\/p>\n<h2>Security beefed up<\/h2>\n<p>The authorities have beefed up security in Mumbai especially around the residence of Thackeray.
