After weeks of talking about it, the nine remaining celebrities finally made it to Wembley Arena. And boy was they excited! There were thrills, spills and sequins galore in this very special edition of Strictly.

Kicking off the show in spectacular style were the professional dancers who wowed the 6000 strong crowd with their performance to ‘Candy man.’

However, not one to be left out of the action, the judges got in on the act! Craig and Bruno made a sensational entrance by being parachuted down from the ceiling dressed as fighter pilots, whilst joining in with the fun were Len and Darcy who strutted their stuff to Tina Turner’s hit ‘Proud Mary.’

Then came a group dance to a medley of 80’s hits and of course they were dressed for the occasion sporting florescent t-shirts.

All this followed by a marching band and absolutely everybody dancing ‘Gangnam style’ and this is before the competitive dancing had even started!

Shooting straight to the top of leader board once again were Denise and James who amazed the judges and the entire audience with their fabulous Charleston. In fact the judges were so impressed that they dished out a few 10’s, giving the couple a total score of 39.

But hot on their heels were “Little Miss Dynamite” Dani Harmer and her partner Vincent who scored an impressive 36 points. Even more impressive though was their Quickstep, which transported everyone back to the 60’s with the routine being danced to ‘You can hurry love’ by The Supremes.

Craig described the dance as “fast, efficient and fearless”, before adding that he loved it. Bruno meanwhile called Dani a “gorgeous little smurf!”, whilst Darcy proclaimed that “for a petite couple, you can eat up that dance floor!” Although the dance was delicious, we don’t think she meant literally!

Also scoring high marks was comeback King Michael Vaughn, who following being at the bottom of the leader board last week, has now shot up to third place. It just goes to show that his ballroom is much better than his Latin, with his American Smooth with Natalie scoring a super 35 points.

A normally grumpy Craig was pleased with Michael’s extra effort, commenting “someone’s been working hard darling…what an improvement!”

However, not everyone was on Craig’s good side as Richard felt the force of his acid tongue. The judge critiqued Richard and Erin’s Salsa by saying that it was “littered with timing issues” and that it was “stompy and flat-footed,” Oh dear! And it looked like the other judges agreed as Richard scored a disappointing 24 points.

Someone who can relate to that unimpressive score is Victoria Pendleton, who after what seemed like a promising start, seemed to have lost her mojo.

Her Paso Doble with Brendan, which started with Victoria riding mid-air on a bicycle, failed to set everyone alight. Most of the judges complained about her bad shaping, whilst Darcy suggested that she got overwhelmed with all the space.

However, after all the ups and down of the dances, by the end of the show everyone was up dancing and getting into the party spirit. But someone’s party will soon be over as one couple will have to leave the competition tomorrow.

The Girls Aloud performed their new track ‘Something New’ during the results show of the Wembley Arena special.

[media id=716 width=610 height=340]

Dressed in metallic silver dresses, the girls brought the house down as they strutted their stuff to the 6,000 audience members.

Over in the competition in was time to say goodbye to another celebrity.

Tess Daly revealed that Nicky Byrne and Richard Arnold had polled the lowest combined judges scores and public votes meaning they would have to compete against each other in the dreaded dance off.

After a tense dance off it was Nicky’s Jive that impressed the judges most meaning that Richard was the next celebrity to be eliminated from the competition.

On casting his vote Craig Revel Horwood said:”Just for sheer exuberance and energy, I am going to save Nicky and Karen.”

Darcey explained her decision saying: “Well you both performed very well tonight, but for content and energy as well, I am going to save Nicky and Karen.”

While Bruno echoed his fellow judges sentiments saying: “Both highly entertaining, but I have to go as well with power and content, and that was delivered by Nicky & Karen.”

On leaving the show, Richard told host Tess Daly: “I always thought I’d miss the wardrobe most, but I don’t think I will, I will miss Erin Boag, who – every Monday – it’s like climbing a mountain, and every Monday she’d say ‘welcome to another week. I’ll miss that on Monday”

[media id=717 width=610 height=340]

Girls Aloud, Kylie Minoque 6000 people and breathless dance show Strictly Come Dancing growin up every week.

[80,63,45,17,1,118,14
38172,32010,38169,38164,38166,35477,38174,38168,33973,38163,38162,38171,38170,33581,1068,38167,38173
post-28133","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-breaking-news","category-daily","category-entertainment","category-europe","category-general","category-hot","category-world","tag-6000-people-strictly-come-dancing","tag-bbc-one","tag-craig-revel-horwood","tag-denise-and-james","tag-denise-van-outen","tag-girls-aloud","tag-girls-aloud-back","tag-girls-aloud-something-new-wembley-arena","tag-kimberley-walsh","tag-kylie-minoque","tag-live-at-wembley","tag-nicky-byrne-dance-off","tag-sir-bruce-forsythe","tag-strictly-come-dancing-2012","tag-video","tag-wembley-arena-strictly-come-dancing","tag-what-a-show-at-wembley
["GET
