{"id":28689,"date":"2012-11-24T11:31:23","date_gmt":"2012-11-24T09:31:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/?p=28689"},"modified":"2012-11-24T11:36:09","modified_gmt":"2012-11-24T09:36:09","slug":"pakistan-suspends-cell-phones-in-50-cities-to-stop-bombings-28689","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/pakistan-suspends-cell-phones-in-50-cities-to-stop-bombings-28689\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan suspends cell phones in 50 cities to stop bombings"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mceTemp\"><\/div>\n<figure id=\"attachment_28690\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-28690\" style=\"width: 280px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-28690\" title=\"pakistan-taliban-attack-cellphone-banned-nationalturk-121\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/cellphonebannedNationalturk-121-280x168.jpg\" alt=\"pakistan-taliban-attack-cellphone-banned-nationalturk-121\" width=\"280\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/cellphonebannedNationalturk-121-280x168.jpg 280w, https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/cellphonebannedNationalturk-121.jpg 468w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 280px) 100vw, 280px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-28690\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cellphone service suspended in Pakistan for 2 days in fear of Taliban terrorist attacks<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h1>Ahead of 9<sup>th<\/sup> and 10<sup>th<\/sup> Muharram, Pakistan government have suspended mobile services in 50 services across the country and banned pillion riders.<\/h1>\n<p>Islamabad, Nov 24\/NationalTurk \u2013 Pakistan government has suspended \u00a0cellphone services in country\u2019s 50 cities for two days beginning Saturday to stop bombings against Shia processions.<\/p>\n<p>The mobile services will remain suspended for 9th (Saturday) and 10th of Muharram (Sunday), which mark a key event in the Islamic religious calendar particularly for Shias.<\/p>\n<p>Muharram marks the anniversary of the battle where the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad was killed.<\/p>\n<p>The cities where services will remain suspended are: Karachi, Khairpur and Larkana in Sindh; Lahore, Multan, Sargodha, Attock, Jhang, Rahimyar Khan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Bhakkar, Pakpattan, Nankana Sahib, Dera Ghazi Khan and Muzaffargarh in Punjab; Quetta, Kalat, Khuzdar, Turbat, Gwadar, Panjgur, Mastung, Kohlu, Dera Bugti and Hub in Balochistan; Kohat, Ustarzai, Hungo, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Nowshera, Haripur, Charsadda and Mardan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; Parachinar and Miramshah in Fata; Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Kotli, Rawalakot, Neelum Valley in Pakistan administered Kashmir, and in Gilgit.<\/p>\n<p>The Pakistan government also enforced a blanket ban on motorbikes in several cities of the country. The government has imposed ban on pillion riding across the country till Sunday. In some cities, the ban has been imposed on plying of motor bikes as well.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik while justifying suspension of mobile services and ban on pillion riders said, \u201cIn 90 per cent of bombings, mobile SIMs were used to trigger explosive devices.
