John McAfee, founder of McAfee antivirus software company was arrested by Guatemalan police arrested for entering the Latin American country illegally.<\/h1>\n

Belize \/ NationalTurk –\u00a0Anti-virus software tycoon John McAfee was detained and arrested by Guatemalan police for illegally entering Guetemala, Latin American country’s interior minister Mauricio Lopez Bonilla stated.<\/p>\n

Earlier on this Wednesday, John McAfee said he had officially requested asylum in Guatemala after entering Guatemala from Belize, where he was reportedly stated he fears for his safety because he has sensitive information about official corruption and refused to donate to local Guatemalan politicians.<\/p>\n

John McAfee arrested in Guatemala, antivirus softwares could not save him this time<\/h2>\n

John McAfee’s fate remaines unclear as of Thursday. Guatemalan authorities await word from their Foreign Ministry as to what they would do with US Citizen McAfee and whether they intended to send him back to Belize, where he is a person of interest in the killing of a fellow ex-pat.<\/p>\n

“We are awaiting instructions from the Foreign Ministry. It will be the foreign relations department that decides the process,” Interior Minister Mauricio Lopez Bonilla said following McAfee’s arrest Wednesday at a hotel in an upscale part of Guatemala City.<\/p>\n

In Guatemala arrested McAfee’s lawyer says he would be held until it could be determined if he entered Guatemala legally.<\/p>\n

Only on Tuesday, John McAfee appeared with his trademark hair and goatee dyed black, and wearing a dark suit and tie – a far cry from the surfer-style blonde hair highlights, shorts and tribal-tattooed bare shoulders he sported in Belize, another Latin country \u00a0located on the north eastern coast of Central America\u00a0neighbour to Guatemala by\u00a0the south and west.<\/p>\n
