Pakistan\u2019s judicial commission probing presence of Osama bin Laden in the country submitted its report to Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday evening.<\/h1>\n

Islamabad, Jan 3\/Nationalturk: Pakistan\u2019s judicial commission probing presence of world’s most wanted militant Osama bin Laden in the country submitted its report to Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday evening.<\/p>\n

An official spokesman said chairman Abbottabad Commission Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at the PM House, here this evening and submitted the report of the Commission.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, Iqbal briefed Prime Minister about the salient features of the report prepared by the Commission. \u201cThe Prime Minister appreciated the efforts and hardwork of the Chairman and his team in the compilation of this report,\u201d the spokesman said.<\/p>\n

The government did not divulge any details of the probe report and did not say whether the findings of the commission will be made public.<\/p>\n

It now remains to be seen whether government makes the report public.<\/p>\n

Commission was formed after Osama’s killing at Abbottabad<\/h2>\n

The Pakistan government had formed the commission comprising retired army officers and diplomats to probe how Al Qaida chief bin Laden’s presence in the country went undetected after killing of Osama in the country.<\/p>\n

Osama was killed in a raid by US Navy seals in the garrison town of Abbottabad on May 2, 2011. The operation lasted for 40-minutes and it was an embarrassment for military establishment as US helicopters sneaked into the country without being detected and conducted the operation.<\/p>\n

The operation posed a question mark on the security agencies of Pakistan. There were apprehensions that some in the security agencies knew Osama was hiding in the country. Even some US security experts had casted doubts that some officials of security agencies might have been knowing about Osama\u2019s presence in country and were providing\u00a0 support to him.<\/p>\n
