The Shia Muslims in Pakistan have refused to bury bodies of those killed in Thursday\u2019s bombings in country\u2019s restive Quetta city. They are demanding that city be handed over to Pakistan army.<\/h1>\n

Islamabad, Jan 12\/Nationalturk – The Shia Muslims in Pakistan\u2019s Quetta city have refused to bury bodies of their community members, who were killed in recent bombings on Thursday.<\/p>\n

According to Pakistan newspaper, Express Tribune, the Shia Muslims were braving heavy rain and cold on Saturday and staging a sit-in on Alamdar road in Quetta, where bombings killed dozens of community members on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Quetta is the capital of country\u2019s restive Balochistan province.<\/p>\n

The Shia Muslims have been demanding that Quetta be handed over to army. \u201cThe army should seize control of Quetta to ensure safety of Shia Muslims. We won\u2019t bury bodies of the victim of Thursday\u2019s bombings till Pakistan government concedes our demands and allow military to take control of Quetta\u201d.<\/p>\n

Over 50 coffins were lying on the Alamdar Road. Since Thursday, the Shias in Quetta city have refused to bury the bodies of most of the blast victims.<\/p>\n

‘We would continue our sit-in demonstration’<\/h2>\n

\u201cWe would continue our sit-in demonstration till Pakistan government accepts their demands. Army should take over Quetta to handle the law and order situation,\u201d Shia leader Ibrahim Hazara was quoted as saying by Pakistan\u2019s Dawn newspaper.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Shia party – Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) took out a protest rally in Quetta against the terrorist attacks.<\/p>\n

The participants carried banners and placards and raised slogans against terrorist attacks. The rally passed through various roads and presented a memorandum to senior police officer.<\/p>\n

A string of bombings on Thursday left over 100 people dead and 150 wounded in one of the bloodiest days of violence in restive Balochistan.<\/p>\n

The Sunni militant group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi has claimed responsibility for the blast.<\/p>\n
