China\u2019s Peoples\u2019 Liberation Army (PLA) has asked its troops to remain in combat readiness and be prepared for war amid continuing escalation of tension with Japan.<\/h1>\n

New Delhi, Jan 16\/Nationalturk- Amid territorial disputes and escalation in tension with its neighbor Japan, \u00a0China\u2019s Peoples\u2019 Liberation Army (PLA) has asked its troops to remain in combat readiness and be prepared for war.<\/p>\n

\u201cPLA aims to beef up its troops’ combat readiness and prepare for actual war situations through exercises this year,\u201d Chinese newspaper South China Morning Post reported quoting People’s Liberation Army\u2019s latest annual training directive (blueprint).<\/p>\n

It said in 2013, the goal set for the entire army and the People’s Armed Police force is to bolster their capabilities to fight and their ability to win a war \u2026 to be well-prepared for a war by subjecting the army to hard and rigorous training on an actual combat basis.<\/p>\n

In last year’s directive, more emphasis was placed on joint military trainings and co-ordination among different PLA services.<\/p>\n

Blueprint stresses urgency of real combat abilities<\/h2>\n

This year’s blueprint stresses the urgency of real combat abilities in all military training by repeating the phrase “fighting wars”, or dazhang, as many as 10 times in the article, which was no more than 1,000 words. The phrase did not appear in last year’s directive.<\/p>\n

The changes could be a result of the rising tensions in waters between China and Japan over disputed islands, which Japan calls as Senkaku Islands and China terms it as the Diaoyus.<\/p>\n

The disputed chain of islands in the East China Sea has been claimed by both China and Japan since the early 1970s.<\/p>\n

It is pertinent to mention here that Japan may station F-15 fighter jets near the disputed Senkaku (Diaoyu) \u00a0Islands.<\/p>\n

According to Japan\u2019s newspaper, Japan Times, country\u2019s Defense Ministry is considering stationing F-15 fighter jets at a remote airport halfway from Naha to Taiwan to speed up its response to airspace incursions by China near the disputed Senkaku (Diaoyu) Islands.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe planes would be stationed on Shimojijima Island, which is much closer to the Japan-administered Senkakus, which China claims as the Diaoyu, than to Okinawa\u2019s prefectural capital Naha, where the Japanese \u00a0F-15s are based,\u201d sources said.<\/p>\n
