File Pic<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h1>According to an opinion poll conducted by top Indian magazine \u201cIndia Today\u201d, Congress-led UPA government in India will fall if elections are held right now.<\/h1>\n<p>New Delhi, Jan 26\/Nationalturk : The opinion poll conducted by Indian magazine \u201cIndia Today\u201d has said if elections are held at this point of time in India, Congress-led UPA government will fall.<\/p>\n<p>The poll may come as major jolt to Congress-led UPA front because it comes nearly a year before India goes to election. India will go to election in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>According to the poll, the opposition front NDA-led by rightwing party BJP is likely to win 203 seats out of 543 seats of Indian parliament. In 2009 parliamentary elections, NDA won 159 results.<\/p>\n<p>The poll predicts that Congress-led UPA front\u2019s tally is likely to drop from 259 to 157 during the same period. UPA won 259 seats in 2009 elections in India. \u201cThe other groups and parties too are likely to gain if elections are held right now. Their tally is likely to shot from 125 to 183\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2>57 % respondents favoured Narendra Modi as PM<\/h2>\n<p>The poll further says that rightwing Hindu leader and Chief Minister of Indian State of Gujarat Narendra Modi, who has been blamed for anti-Muslim riots in the State in 2002, \u00a0has become more popular over the last six months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbout 57 per cent people, with whom the magazine spoke, favoured BJP leader Modi as Prime Minister of India while only 41 per cent supported Congress\u2019s Rahul Gandhi, who was recently elevated as the second-in-command of the Congress by occupying the position of vice-president,\u201d the poll reveals.<\/p>\n<p>About performance of Prime minister Manmohan Singh in last three years, 39 per cent respondents rated it as &#8220;average&#8221;, 27 per cent as &#8220;poor&#8221; and 26 per cent as &#8220;good&#8221;.
